About the Pastors

Rev. Dr. Eric Cole serves as Senior Pastor of Shalom Community Christian Church, Greensboro, NC. He has served as Senior Pastor for several churches over the past 20 years.

He holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College, Atlanta, Ga; a Masters of Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; a Masters of Divinity degree from Duke University; a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary and has completed all coursework for the Doctor of Philosophy degree from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC.

He is formerly an Assistant Professor and President of the Faculty at Bennett College for Women, Greensboro, NC and has taught previously at several colleges throughout North Carolina. He has nearly 10 years of corporate work experience at Glaxo Pharmaceutical Company (now GlaxoSmithKline) and is the author of the book,
Are you Ready for a Miracle?

He has served on several local boards such as American Red Cross, Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Goodwill Industries, Inc. Pastor Cole has a passion for social justice as evidenced when he and a deacon from the church spent the night on the streets of Greensboro in order to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing the homeless of our community. Because of that experience, his insights have been helpful in assisting the city in addressing a number of the issues surrounding homelessness.

Pastor Dionne Cole serves as Pastoral Administrator at Shalom. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Marketing from University of Maryland, College Park.

She has worked in consumer marketing for over 20 years for companies such as Reckitt & Colman, Nabisco, and Kraft Foods. She has been actively involved in multiple capacities for the past 30 years in churches ranging in size from 15 to over 25,000 members.

Their passion for teaching the Word of God and desire to see the people of God live according to the Word is evident in all they do. They are committed to modeling God’s love in ministry, marriage and the mission to which God called them.

They live in Gibsonville, North Carolina; have two daughters, Erica Lynn Cole and Andrea LaNiece Cole, and two Akitas named Duke and Prince Cole.
