Meet Our Pastors

Rev. Dr. Eric Cole

Dr. Cole serves as Senior Pastor of Shalom Community Christian Church, Greensboro, NC which he started in November 1999. He holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College, a Masters of Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; a Masters of Divinity degree from Duke University; a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary, and has completed all coursework for the Doctor of Philosophy degree from North Carolina State University.

Dr. Cole is also currently teaching Math in the Guilford County School (GCS) System. He is formerly the Director of the Religion Department at Bennett College where he also served as the Interim Chair of the Math/Computer Science Department, math professor, and the President of the Faculty. He has corporate work experience at Glaxo Pharmaceutical Company (now GlaxoSmithKline) where he served as a statistician, human resources supervisor, and manager of the medical education department. Lastly, he is the author of the following books, “Victory in the Midst of Adversity” and “Are You Ready for a Miracle?” 

He was the former Board Chair of Family Promise of Guilford County and Summit House, Inc; and has served on numerous boards including the Executive Committee Board for Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, American Red Cross, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Goodwill Industries, Inc.

Pastor Cole has a passion for social justice as evidenced when he and a deacon from the church spent the night on the streets of Greensboro to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing the homeless in the community. As a result of that experience, his insights have helped assist organizations to address a number of the issues surrounding homelessness.

Pastor Dionne Cole

Pastor Dionne Cole serves as Pastoral Administrator at Shalom. She holds a B.S. degree in Business Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is originally from Greensboro.

She has worked in consumer marketing and finance for over 20 years for companies such as Reckitt & Colman, Nabisco, and Kraft Foods. She has been actively involved in multiple capacities for the past 30 years in churches ranging in size from 15 to over 25,000 members.

Their passion for teaching the Word of God and desire to see the people of God live according to the Word is evident in all they do. They are committed to modeling God’s love in ministry, marriage, and the mission to which God called them.

They live in Gibsonville, North Carolina, and have three children; Erica Lynn Robertson and her husband Dr. Kesley Robertson; and Andrea LaNiece Cole.
